A shocking incident has come to light from Mumbai's local train network, where an inebriated man was caught and beaten by commuters after he inappropriately touched a woman at Dadar railway station during peak hours. The Dadar Government Railway Police (GRP) later arrested the accused. The incident took place on Wednesday evening between 6 pm and 7 pm on Platform No. 8, which was crowded with commuters. The victim, a woman in her thirties and a homemaker, was waiting to board a train when the accused took advantage of the rush and touched her inappropriately while passing by.

Shocked by the act, the woman immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of fellow commuters. Several people quickly intervened, caught the man, and thrashed him before handing him over to the police present at the platform. The accused was taken to the Dadar GRP police chowky, where he was booked for molestation under relevant sections of the law, as reported by The Times of India. Police officials confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. According to authorities, the accused is a native of Jharkhand and earns a living through odd jobs. Investigations are ongoing, and further legal action will be taken against him.

In another seprate incident, On March 11th, an empty alcohol bottle thrown from a train heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) shattered a ceiling fan in the ladies' compartment of the 8:30 PM Titwala local after Masjid station, causing panic. A shard struck Amina Khan, an 18-year-old passenger, but she sustained only minor injuries. Pranavi Billa, 29, reported the incident to female police constables on board, but they allegedly failed to respond. The incident, witnessed by a Free Press Journal journalist, highlights growing concerns about passenger safety on Mumbai locals, prompting calls for increased security and swift action against offenders, particularly to protect women.
