Mumbai Local Train Update: Trains Running 15 Minutes Late on Central Line Amid Heavy Rains

Local trains on the Central line are running about 10 to 15 minutes late. However, there is no official statement from the Central Railway regarding of trains getting late or cancelled due to rains in Mumbai. 

As of 8:30 am on Friday, July 12, all Central and Western Railway local trains in city were running normally. However, train services on the Central line are disturbed due to overnight rainfall leads to waterlogging on railway tracks. Many commuters of the Central railway claimed the trains were running 10 to 15 minutes late.

The BEST also issued bus diversion, with Sion Road bus number 24 and Route numbers 10,25 & 341 diverted via Sion Circle.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alerts for Mumbai and Palghar today, an orange alert for Thane and Navi Mumbai (Raigad), and an Orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Navi Mumbai tomorrow (July 13).

The IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall in the city and its suburbs with a possibility of very heavy rainfall at a few places. Hide tide measuring up to 4.25 metres is expected around 1:23 pm.
