Mumbai Local Train Update: Western Railway has announced a mega block on the nights of April 11-12 and April 12-13 for infrastructure work between Mahim and Bandra stations. The block on April 11-12 will be in effect from 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the Up and Down Slow lines. The Down Fast line will be affected from 12:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. On April 12-13, the block will be imposed from 11:30 p.m. to 9 a.m. on the Up, Down Slow, and Down Fast lines. The Up Fast line will remain blocked from 11:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. Around 300 suburban train services will be canceled during both block periods, affecting late-night and early-morning commuters on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Several long-distance Mail and Express trains are also expected to face delays, rescheduling, or diversions.

Block Details

Block 1 (Friday Night)

Timings:

  • Up and down slow lines: 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.

  • Up and down fast lines: 12:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Impact:

  • After 10:23 p.m., all Churchgate-bound and departing slow locals will run on the fast track between Mumbai Central and Santacruz. They will not stop at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road.

  • The last local from Virar to Churchgate will depart at 12:05 a.m.

  • Trains between Goregaon and Bandra will operate on the Harbour line.

  • Locals between Virar and Andheri will run on both slow and fast tracks.

  • The first Churchgate-bound local from Bhayandar will leave at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday and will run on the fast track between Santacruz and Mumbai Central.

  • The first slow local from Borivali to Churchgate will depart at 8:03 a.m.

  • The first fast local from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 6:15 a.m.

  • The first fast local from Churchgate to Borivali will leave at 6:14 a.m.

  • The first slow local from Churchgate to Borivali will depart at 8:03 a.m.

Impact on Suburban Services (April 11-12, Friday-Saturday):

  • Churchgate Departures:

    • All slow services departing from Churchgate between 10:23 p.m. and 11:58 p.m. on Friday will run on the Fast line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz. These trains will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road.

    • The last slow service from Churchgate to Bhayander will depart at 10:23 p.m. on Friday.

    • The last fast service from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 11:40 p.m. on Friday.

    • The 11:58 p.m. Churchgate-Virar local will run on the Fast line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz and will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road.

  • Borivali and Virar Departures:

    • The last slow service from Borivali to Churchgate will depart at 10:15 p.m. on Friday. After this, remaining trains will run on the Fast line between Santacruz and Mumbai Central and will not halt at Khar Road, Mahim, Matunga Road, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, and Mahalaxmi.

    • The last Virar-Churchgate local will depart at 12:05 a.m. (midnight).

Train Operations During the Block Period:

  • Local trains between Churchgate and Dadar will operate on Fast lines.

  • Local trains between Goregaon and Bandra will operate on Harbour lines.

  • Local train services between Virar and Andheri will run on both Slow and Fast lines.

First Services on Saturday, April 12:

  • The first Virar-Churchgate local will depart at 5:47 a.m.

  • The first Bhayander-Churchgate slow local will depart at 6:10 a.m. and will run on the Fast line between Santacruz and Mumbai Central, skipping Khar Road, Mahim, Matunga Road, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, and Mahalaxmi.

  • The first Borivali-Churchgate slow local will depart at 8:03 a.m.

  • The first fast local from Churchgate to Borivali will depart at 6:14 a.m. and will run on the Fast line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz, skipping Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road.

  • The first fast local from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 6:15 a.m.

  • The first slow local from Churchgate to Borivali will depart at 8:03 a.m.

Impact on Suburban Services (April 12-13, Saturday-Sunday):

  • Train Operations During the Block Period:

    • Local services between Churchgate and Dadar will run on Fast lines.

    • Services between Goregaon and Bandra/Mahim will operate on Harbour lines.

    • All UP local trains originating from Dahanu Road, Virar, Nallasopara, Vasai Road, Bhayandar, and Borivali will run only up to Andheri.

    • Services between Virar and Andheri will operate on both Slow and Fast lines.

  • Last Train Services on Saturday Night:

    • The last slow service from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 10:53 p.m.

    • The last fast service from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 11:05 p.m.

    • The last Harbour line service from Mahim to Goregaon will depart at 12:11 a.m. (midnight) (CSMT departure at 11:46 p.m.).

    • The last service from Bandra to Virar will depart at 1:30 a.m.

    • The last slow service from Borivali to Churchgate will depart at 10:49 p.m.

    • The last fast local from Virar to Churchgate will depart at 10:24 p.m.

    • The last local service from Virar to Bandra will depart at 12:05 a.m.

First Services on Sunday, April 13:

  • The first slow local from Virar to Churchgate will depart at 8:08 a.m.

  • The first AC local from Bhayander to Churchgate will depart at 8:24 a.m.

  • The first slow local from Vasai Road to Churchgate will depart at 8:14 a.m. and will run in slow mode up to Andheri.

  • The first fast local from Virar to Churchgate will depart at 8:18 a.m.

  • The first fast local from Churchgate to Virar will depart at 9:03 a.m.

  • The first slow local from Churchgate to Borivali will depart at 9:04 a.m.

The following Mail trains are rescheduled due to Major Block in the morning between Mahim and Bandra on 12th and 13th April:

 

  1. Train No. 22953 Gujrat Express (Mumbai Central - Ahmedabad Jn) dated 12.04.25 has been rescheduled to depart at 06.40 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 05.40 hrs.
  2. Train No. 22953 Gujrat Express (Mumbai Central - Ahmedabad Jn) dated 13.04.25 has been rescheduled to depart at 09.00 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 05.40 hrs.
  3. Train No. 20901 Vande Bharat Exp (Mumbai Central - Gandhinagar Cap) dated 13.04.25 has been rescheduled to depart at 08.50 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 06.00 hrs.

 

The following Mail trains are Short Terminated/Short Originated due to a Major Block in the morning between Mahim and Bandra on 12th and 13th April:

Short-Originated Trains:

  1. Train No. 12927 DDR EKNR SF Express (Dadar - Ekta Nagar) – On April 12, the train will originate from Borivali instead of Dadar.

  2. Train No. 19003 Khandesh Express (Dadar - Bhusaval Jn) – On April 13, the train will originate from Borivali instead of Dadar.

  3. Train No. 19015 Saurashtra Express (Dadar - Porbandar) – On April 13, the train will originate from Borivali instead of Dadar.

  4. Train No. 59045 Mumbai Central - Vapi Passenger – On April 13, the train will originate from Borivali instead of Mumbai Central.

Short-Terminated Train:

  1. Train No. 59024 Valsad - Mumbai Central Passenger – On April 13, the train will be short-terminated at Borivali instead of Mumbai Central.

Western Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and check train schedules in advance.
