Mumbai: Malvani Police Bust Drug Racket Using Water Bottles, Seize Narcotics Worth Rs 9.5 Lakh
The Malvani Police have busted a drug smuggling racket that used water bottles as a cover for narcotics trafficking. Two accused, identified as Vinit Sunil Singh and Shiven Mangesh Parkar, have been arrested in connection with the case. The police have seized drugs worth ₹9.5 lakh from their possession. Both accused have been booked under the NDPS Act, and the court has remanded them to police custody.
Police Crackdown After Tip-Off
Last week, Malvani police registered a case related to drug trafficking and launched an investigation. Based on technical surveillance, the police tracked the accused's movements through their photographs and mobile numbers. A team of officers in plain clothes kept a close watch on the Mira Road area, leading them to the suspects’ hideout at Old Golden Nest, Swarnadeep Society, Building No. 5.
Seizure of High-Value Drugs
During the operation, police seized 73.9 grams of hydro ganja, 4.7 grams of MD drugs, 45 LSD dot papers, and 62 additional LSD dot papers, all collectively valued at ₹9.5 lakh. The accused were allegedly planning to sell the drugs soon, but their arrest foiled their plans.
The police are now investigating the larger network linked to this racket and whether more individuals are involved. Further action is underway.
