Mumbai Mega Block on February 16, 2025: Local Train Services To Be Affected on Central, Western and Harbour Lines on Sunday

This Sunday, February 16, the railway will impose a mega block in the Central, Western, and Harbour lines of Mumbai local for maintenance, repair, and overhead wire work to avoid delays and surprise breakdowns during weekdays. Central Railway (CR) of Mumbai division has announced a Sunday mega block from 10.55 am to 3.35 pm between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar in up and down slow lines.

Local train services will also be affected in the Harbour line of Mumbai, local trains from Kurla to Vashi Up and Down line for 4 hours, while a block in the Western line will be from 10 am to 3 am between Goregaon and Borivali stations due to railway track work for the 6th line.

Central Line 

Down slow services departing CSMT from 10.48 am to 3.32 pm will be diverted on the DN fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar stations, halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla stations, and then re-diverted on the DOWN slow line at Vidyavihar station.

Up slow services departing Ghatkopar from 10.19 am to 3.29 pm will be diverted on UP fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT Mumbai stations and will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla stations in Central Line.

Harbour Line

Down Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi departing CSMT Mumbai from 10.34 am to 3.36 pm and Up Harbour line services towards CSMT Mumbai departing Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.16 am to 3.47 pm will remain cancelled. Special suburban trains will run on CSMT–Kurla & Panvel – Vashi sections during the block period. Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during the block period.

Western Line

To carry out maintenance work on tracks, signalling, and overhead equipment, a Major Block of five hours will be taken on UP and DOWN Fast lines between Borivali and Goregaon stations from 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

During the block period, all UP and DOWN Fast Line trains will run on Slow lines between Goregaon and Borivali stations. Due to the block, some Up and Down suburban services will remain cancelled, and some of the Andheri and Borivali locals will run up to Goregaon station on the Harbour line.

Apart from this, Western Railway will undertake two blocks on February 16, 2025, for the launching of the PSC slab and girder: a 5-hour 30-minute block from 01:40 to 07:10 between Virar and Vaitarna stations and a 5-hour block from 01:50 to 06:50 between Saphale and Kelve Road stations.
