The Central Railway has announced a mega block for the Central and Harbour lines on March 30 to undertake repair and maintenance work on tracks, overhead wires, and other railway facilities.

Mumbai Mega Block on Sunday, March 30, 2025: The Central Railway has announced a mega block for the Central and Harbour lines this Sunday (March 30) to undertake repair and maintenance work on tracks, overhead wires, and other railway facilities. The CR said that the Mumbai local train will operate a Sunday Mega Block and requested passengers to plan their journey accordingly. Commuters travelling for Gudi Padwa festival celebrations may face inconvenience on Sunday between Thane to Kalyan and Kurla to Vashi. On the Western Railway, a block will be carried out between the Santacruz and Mahim stations after midnight on Saturday. However, there will be no Sunday Mega block on the Western Railway.
Central Line Mega Block Update
Dow slow/semi-fast services leaving Mulund from 10.43 am to 3.53 pm will be diverted on the DOWN FAST line between Mulund and Kalyan stations, halting at Thane, Kalva, Mumbra, Diva, and Dombivali stations. They will arrive at their destination 10 minutes behind schedule.
UP slow/semi-fast services leaving Kalyan from 10.36 am to 3.51 pm will be diverted on the UP FAST line between Kalyan and Mulund stations, halting at Dombivali, Diva, Mumbra, Kalva, and Thane stations. They will then be further re-diverted on the UP SLOW line at Mulund station and arrive at their destination 10 minutes behind schedule. Thane Locals will run on the DOWN slow line.

All UP and DOWN slow services departing/arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm will arrive or depart 10 minutes behind schedule. Central Railway, Mumbai Division, will operate a Special Block for the commissioning of Electronic Interlocking at Neral station on Sunday, 30.03.2025, from 08.30 to 14.30 hours. Suburban services will not be available between Badlapur and Karjat stations from 8.30 hours to 14.30 hours.

CSMT-Khopoli local KP-5 leaving CSMT at 12.20 hrs
CSMT-Karjat local S-15 leaving CSMT at 09.30 hrs will be short-terminated at Ambarnath station

Central Railway: Night Block Between Kalyan and Badlapur
The Mumbai Division of Central Railway will operate a Special Traffic and Power Block on UP & Down South-East lines for de-launching four girders of an existing Road Over Bridge (ROB) and constructing a new pipeline bridge between Kalyan and Badlapur.

Block Duration: 01:30 hrs to 04:30 hrs on March 30, 2025 (Sunday early morning).
Affected Section: Ambarnath to Badlapur.
No suburban services will be available between Ambarnath and Karjat during this period.
Changes in Suburban Train Services
PA3 Parel-Ambarnath local (23:13 hrs from Parel) → Extended up to Badlapur.
BL61 CSMT-Badlapur local (23:51 hrs from CSMT) → Short terminated at Ambarnath.
S1 CSMT-Karjat local (00:12 hrs from CSMT) → Short terminated at Ambarnath.
S2 Karjat-CSMT local (02:30 hrs from Karjat) → Will originate from Ambarnath at 03:10 hrs.
Special Karjat-CSMT local → Departs from Karjat at 04:10 hrs and arrives at CSMT at 06:08 hrs.
Harbour Line Mega Block Update
DOWN Harbour line services to Vashi /Belapur/Panvel departing CSMT from 10.34 am to 3.36 pm and UP Harbour line services for CSMT departing Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.16 am to 3.47 pm will remain cancelled. However, Special services will run between CSMT-Kurla and Kurla-Panvel/Vashi during the block period. Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Thane-Vashi / Nerul stations from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
No Block On Western Line
No mega block in the Western line on Sunday. Meanwhile, to carry out track, signalling, and overhead equipment maintenance, Western Railway will undertake a Jumbo Block between Santacruz and Mahim stations on the intervening night of March 29-30, 2025 (Saturday/Sunday).
DOWN Slow Line: Block from 01:00 hrs to 04:30 hrs.
UP Slow Line: Block from 00:30 hrs to 04:30 hrs.

Train Operations During the Block
DOWN slow-line trains will run on the DOWN fast-line between Mumbai Central (Local) and Santacruz. Due to inadequate platform length, these trains will have double halts at Lower Parel, Mahim, and Khar Road and will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Prabhadevi, and Matunga Road.
UP Slow line trains will run on the UP Fast line from Santacruz to Mumbai Central (Local)/Churchgate. These trains will have a double halt at Khar Road but will not halt at Mahim, Matunga Road, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, and Mahalaxmi.
