Mumbai Metro Update: Line 3’s Extension May Open In March, Fare Price Ranges From Rs. 10 To Rs. 60

The extension line of Mumbai Metro Line 3 will commence operation in March. As this line is underground it is a great escape from traffic congestion and all the vehicle-honking noise. The fare price starts from Rs. 10 and goes up to Rs. 60.

This route is an extension of Metro Line 3 that runs between Aarey and BKC. Metro Line 3 became operational in October 2024. Now this Phase 2A, the extension will have six stations from BKC to Worli Naka.

An official from the Mumbai Metro Rail Cooperation said that there is a need for an alternative travel route to road transport and this corridor will be a good option. Once this route opens for the public people can reach Worli from Aarey in just 36 minutes.

Will This Metro Line 3 Extension Be Interconnected?

On this line, there will be interconnectivity issues. Dadar Metro Station is almost one kilometer away from the Dadar Railway Station. But this new line will offer direct connectivity to business hubs like BKC and Worli.

A trail run on this route was conducted on February 25 and MMRCL posted a video on its official X handle.

The six stations between Kotak BKC and Acharya Atre Chowk are Dharavi, Sitaladevi, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk.
