Mumbai MHADA Lottery Result 2024: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has released the winner list for the Mumbai MHADA Lottery 2024, which received a strong response from the public, with over 1.34 lakh applications for 2,030 affordable homes within Mumbai's city limits. Out of these, 1.13 lakh applicants completed the earnest money deposit (EMD), making them eligible for the final draw. The results were announced today, October 8, at 11 a.m., with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Housing Minister Atul Save expected to attend the event.
The lottery, initially announced in August, reflects the high demand for affordable housing in Mumbai. This year, MHADA has also announced a price reduction of 10% to 25% on 370 of the affordable homes, providing relief to buyers. The apartments offered through the lottery cater to various income groups, with prices ranging from Rs 29 lakh to Rs 6.82 crore. This adjustment aims to make housing more accessible, especially for middle-income and economically weaker sections.
In the previous MHADA lottery of 2023, there were more than 1 lakh applications for over 4,000 affordable homes, underscoring the ongoing need for budget-friendly housing in the city. MHADA has categorized applicants based on income, allowing families with annual incomes up to Rs 6 lakh to apply under the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) category, those earning between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh under the Lower Income Group (LIG), families with incomes between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 12 lakh under the Middle Income Group (MIG), and those with incomes above Rs 12 lakh in the High Income Group (HIG). This structure ensures that a broad spectrum of homebuyers can participate in the lottery and have a chance at owning a home in Mumbai.
