Mumbai Police Arrest 10 Bangladeshi Infiltrators in 24 Hours, Fake IDs Seized

Mumbai Police have arrested 10 Bangladeshi infiltrators in the last 24 hours from different parts of the city. Five were nabbed from Kalachowki, four from Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, and one from Sakinaka. The arrested individuals were found in possession of forged Indian identity documents, allegedly created using fake credentials.

According to the police, the arrested individuals include Mohammad Salam Sardar alias Abu Salam, Sohag Safikul Sardar alias Mohammad Sohag Safikul Islam, Mohammad Shamim Murad Hasan Ali alias Shamim Mulla, Mohammad Alamin Latif Morol, and Ashura Khatun—who were residing in the Kalachowki area. Those arrested from Shivaji Nagar have been identified as Hossain Mofizul Sheikh, Liton Mofizul Sheikh, Ansar Ali Sardar, and Suleman Rahim Sheikh. Meanwhile, Shahida Mulla alias Mahi Chaudhary was arrested by Sakinaka police.

Illegal Entry via West Bengal

As per police sources, the infiltrators illegally entered India through the India-Bangladesh border before reaching West Bengal and later moving to Mumbai. They had been working at various locations in the city. The police are now investigating the network that facilitated their illegal entry and stay.

Kalachowki police had received information about Ashura Khatun, a Bangladeshi woman residing illegally in Chinchpokli East. Based on this tip-off, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained her for questioning. During interrogation, Ashura admitted that she was a Bangladeshi citizen residing in Mumbai without legal documents. She revealed that she had crossed the border through the Muli River and had no valid identification. Following her confession, the police arrested four more Bangladeshi nationals who had entered India through the same route.

Deportation Process Underway

The police have initiated the deportation process for the arrested individuals. Further investigations are being carried out to identify and apprehend those responsible for facilitating illegal entry into India.

Meanwhile, Shivaji Nagar police arrested four infiltrators from Lotus Junction, who had been living illegally in Mumbai for the past 15 years.

In a separate operation, Sakinaka police arrested Shahida Mulla alias Mahi Chaudhary (23) from a housing society in Goregaon Link Road. Shahida had been residing in Mumbai for the past 1.5 years and aspired to build a career in Bollywood. To support her stay, she changed her name to Mahi Chaudhary and managed to obtain Indian documents, including a voter ID and PAN card.

The Mumbai Police are continuing their crackdown on illegal immigrants and those involved in document forgery.
