Mumbai's Sahar Police have arrested two individuals at the city's international airport for attempting to travel abroad using forged passports. The accused, identified as Mohammad Aurangzeb from Uttar Pradesh and Jalandhar Oraganti from Hyderabad, were caught during routine immigration checks.

Aurangzeb previously worked in Saudi Arabia as a driver. He returned to India in 2015 after his company shut down. In 2022, he tried to secure employment in the Gulf but was denied a visa due to his age. He then resorted to obtaining a fake passport.
Jalandhar Oraganti was apprehended while preparing to board a flight to Turkey.Like Aurangzeb, immigration officers noticed inconsistencies in his passport details and asked for supporting documents, which he could not provide.
During questioning, he admitted to using forged documents to acquire a passport from the Hyderabad Passport Office.Oraganti intended to travel to Sharjah first and then proceed to Istanbul, Turkey.
Sahar Police have booked both individuals under charges related to forgery and fraud. Officials are now investigating whether a larger network is involved in creating and supplying fake passports.
