A shocking incident took place at Mankhurd T-junction, where an auto driver dragged a policeman with his rickshaw, leaving the constable injured. The policeman suffered injuries to his knee and hand and was immediately rushed to Shatabdi Hospital for treatment. The incident occurred when the auto driver refused to stop after being signaled by the police, instead accelerating and dragging the constable along with the vehicle. The Mankhurd police have registered a case against the driver for obstructing a government official in the line of duty.
The complainant, Laxman Madhukar Mozar (50), a Navi Mumbai resident, is currently serving at the Parksite Police Station. When Mozar attempted to stop the rickshaw by holding onto it, the driver suddenly accelerated, dragging him along for some distance. Mozar eventually lost his grip and fell, sustaining injuries to his left knee and right elbow. He was immediately taken to Shatabdi Hospital, where he received medical attention.
Following the incident, based on Mozar’s complaint, the Mankhurd police registered a case against the auto driver under charges of obstructing a government official, reckless driving, and causing injury to a policeman.
