Mumbai Police's Valentine's Gift: Couple Reunited After 17 Years Following Wife’s Complaint
Mumbai Police traced a man from the Murbad area after 17 years, following a complaint filed by his wife. The woman had approached the Women’s Commission regarding the matter, after which the complaint was forwarded to the Kalachowki Police Station.
During their investigation, the police located the man at a farmhouse in Murbad. In a heartwarming gesture, the police reunited the couple on Valentine’s Day after 17 long years of separation.
According to information provided by the police, a senior citizen woman had written to the Women’s Commission, requesting them to help find her missing husband. The letter was forwarded to Kalachowki Police, who began their investigation and tracked down the husband, identified as Chandrakant Kanu Joshi. The police had to put in considerable effort to locate Joshi, as he had no contact with his family or friends.
During the investigation, the police first reached out to Joshi’s family and friends, only to find that he had not been in touch with anyone. Further inquiries led the police to one of Joshi’s friends, who mentioned having seen him at a farmhouse in Murbad around 2015-16. However, the friend could not recall the exact name or location of the farmhouse.
The police then conducted a thorough search of all farmhouses in the Murbad area but initially found no trace of Joshi. Eventually, they received specific information about a particular farmhouse, where they conducted a raid and took the husband into custody. After bringing him to Mumbai, the wife identified him, and the police facilitated their reunion after 17 long years.
