Mumbai witnessed a shocking crime in the Malad area, where a 20-year-old youth was brutally beaten to death with sticks and sharp weapons. The deceased has been identified as Aniyant Hemendra Singh. According to the police, the murder was the result of an old rivalry.

As per police, the incident occurred when Aniyant was returning home from work late at night. His minor friend first attacked him with a stick and later used a sharp weapon to kill him. The victim sustained severe injuries on his head, stomach, chest, and arms.

Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The minor accused had fled after committing the crime. The police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. CCTV footage from the scene was seized, which helped in identifying the accused. Soon after, the police apprehended the minor suspect.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the minor killed his friend over repeated teasing. The two had been involved in a dispute earlier as well. The gruesome murder has sent shockwaves across the locality. The Malad police have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act and relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following the arrest, the police produced the minor in the Juvenile Court, which ordered his transfer to a Dongri Children Home. This incident serves as a grim reminder of how a mere joke turned fatal for Aniyant Hemendra Singh. The police continue their investigation into the matter.
