Mumbai: Shree Siddhivinayak Temple Earns Rs 133 Crore Revenue in FY 2024–25

In 2024-25, the Shree Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi recorded a record revenue of Rs 133 crore, a 15% rise over the previous fiscal year. The revenue exceeded the Rs 114 crores projected for the year. On March 8, "International Women's Day," the temple trust has proposed the "Shree Siddhivinayak Bhagyalakshmi" program for girls born in government hospitals. The plan suggests opening a Rs 10,000 fixed deposit account for the girl child in the mother's bank account.

On March 31, under the presidency of Sadanand Sarvankar, the annual report for 2024–2025 and the budget for 2025–2026 were presented, along with the female child program and financial goals for the upcoming year. In 2025–2026, the trust anticipates earning Rs 154 crores. According to the trust, the goal of the girl child program was to incentivise more parents to produce girls, support their education financially, and work towards the empowerment of females. The central and state governments should support the strategy.

The plan for girls has been approved by the management committee of the temple trust. According to the trust, a proposal has been submitted for the government's approval, and the scheme's requirements will be made public shortly after. Devotee donations and the sale of coconut barfi and ladoo as prasad are how the temple makes money. Additionally, jewellery and other valuables donated by devotees are put up for auction at the shrine. The temple held an auction of gold ornaments valued at Rs 1.33 crores on March 30, the day of Gudi Padwa.

The temple uses the funds to fund social welfare initiatives like giving money to patients in need, giving away free books to underprivileged children, and funding hospital dialysis centres. The Maharashtra government oversees the temple through the Prabhadevi Shree Siddhi Vinayak Ganpati Temple Trust.

This temple receives donations ranging from Rs 1500 crore to Rs 1650 crore annually. Next on the list is Kerala's Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Devotees donate between Rs 750 crore and Rs 800 crore to this temple each year. Currently ranked third, Ram Mandir is reported to have garnered 700 crore rupees in donations in a single year.
