The water supply cut by the Mumbai Water Tanker Association has hit housing societies in some parts of Mumbai for the second consecutive day. On the one hand, citizens have complained of water shortage in Chembur, Malad, Kandivali and Chandivali. Residents of these areas are already suffering due to low water pressure from the municipality and are suffering due to the lack of tanker water for other daily activities.
Citizens said that the situation in Tilaknagar Colony in Chembur West has become extremely critical due to the tanker shutdown. Around 160 buildings there, specially building number 70, are receiving very little water supply from the municipality. They are facing further difficulties due to the strike of private tankers. Local residents contacted the M-West ward office, but to no avail, the residents said. Chandivali Citizen Welfare Association expressed its anger on social media over the increasing water shortage in the society, Lilium Lantana. After that, the municipal officials visited. However, they said that it was of no use.
Letter to the Municipal Corporation
Dr. K. K. Singh, Chairman of Ever shine Halley Towers in Thakur village, Kandivali West, has written a letter to the Assistant Engineer requesting for the provision of 10 water tankers. This letter mentions the acute water shortage in the society. He has said that the residents are struggling even for drinking water.Vinod Gholap of Fight for Right Foundation has expressed concern over the acute water shortage in SRA buildings in Orlem, Valnai Raipada and Nutan Colony in Malad West. He presented a picture of the residents of the area running around in search of water for their daily needs.
