Water Supply Disrupted in Kurla’s L Ward Due to Substation Failure

Mumbai: A major disruption in the water supply has affected several areas under the L (Kurla) ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), following a malfunction at the 22-kilovolt electrical substation at the Powai Low-Level Reservoir. As a result, a complete water shutdown has been announced for April 14 in localities including New Mill Road, Maharashtra Kata, Chunabhatti, Vijay Nagar, and the Jari Mata Temple area, among others. Meanwhile, several other parts of the ward will experience low-pressure water supply.

The BMC has assured residents that repair work has been taken up on a priority basis. Once the issue is resolved, the Powai High-Level Reservoir No. 2 will be refilled, and the water supply will be restored gradually.

The civic body has urged citizens to use water judiciously during this period and extended an appeal for cooperation as restoration efforts continue.

New Mill Road, Match Factory Lane, Takiya Area, Shivaji Kutir, Taximen Colony, Indira Nagar, Maharashtra Kata, A.B.S. Road, Chafe Galli, Chunabhatti, Vijay Nagar, Jari Mata Temple Area.

Areas with Low-Pressure Water Supply:
Kaju Pada, Christian Village, Masrani Lane, A.H. Wadia Road, Wadia Estate, M.N. Road, Bull Market, Sandesh Nagar, Kranti Nagar, Brahmanwadi, Patel Wadi, Buddha Colony, LIG-MIG Colony, Vinoba Bhave Nagar, Premier Residence, Kapadia Nagar.
