Mumbai: Western Line Local Train Services Disrupted on March 1 and 2 Due to Bridge Re-Girdering Work; 168 Services Cancelled
The local train services in the Western Line will be affected for 13 hours on the interview night of March 1 and 2 (Saturday & Sunday) due to re-girdering work on the bridge number 5, located between the Mumbai Central and the Grant Road stations. The work will take place on Saturday at 10 pm and is last until 11 am on Sunday, which leads to cancellation of 168 local train services during the block hours.
The re-girdering work will disrupt both Up and Down fast line trains on the Churchgate-Dahanu route. On the night of March 1, a total of 26 trains will be cancelled, while on Sunday, 142 trains will be affected. Moreover, 26 services will be short terminated at Dadar station, with another 72 services terminating at Bandra station. Commuters could also witness delays of locals 15 to 30 minutes during this period.

According to the Western Railway, during this block period, all fast-line trains will be diverted to the slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations. This will lead to the cancellation or short termination of several suburban trains at Bandra and Dadar stations.
