A woman and her accomplice have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband with the help of her lover in Mumbai’s Dindoshi area, police said. Two other suspects, including the lover, remain on the run.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Ranju Chandrashekhar Chauhan, 28, and Moinuddin Khan, 20. According to police, Ranju lived with her husband, Chandrashekhar, 36, in Gokegav East’s Hamulal Seva Mandal Banjari Pada area.

On March 15, Chandrashekhar was found unconscious at home. His brother-in-law, Vijenderkumar Chauhan, 50, informed the police. Chandrashekhar was declared dead at the hospital, and the police initially registered it as an accidental death. However, suspicions of foul play led officers to register a case under BNS sections 103(1) and 61(2), launching a deeper investigation.

During questioning, police discovered that Ranju was in a relationship with a man named Shahrukh. Further investigation revealed that Ranju considered her husband an obstacle to their affair. She conspired with Shahrukh and his associates, Moinuddin and Shivdas, to kill Chandrashekhar.

On March 15, around 2:45 a.m., the suspects strangled Chandrashekhar to death. Police arrested Ranju and Moinuddin, while efforts are underway to apprehend Shahrukh and the other accomplice. Officers have formed special teams to track down the fugitives.
