Operation Shodh: Mumbai Police Special Drive to Reunite Missing Women, Kids with Families

In an effort to locate missing children and women, the Mumbai Police has launched a special drive titled Operation Shodh, which will run from April 17 to May 30. The objective of this campaign is to trace children under the age of 18 who are missing or abducted, along with women above the age of 18 reported missing across the city.

Under this initiative, Mumbai Police will make all possible efforts at every police station level to safely locate and reunite as many missing children and women as possible.

The city police have also sought cooperation from citizens and NGOs working in the field of child welfare to ensure the success of this mission. Police have appealed to the public to stay vigilant, and if anyone notices a suspicious child, they are urged to approach the child politely and inform the police immediately in case of any doubt. Information can be reported to the Police Control Room by dialing 100 or Child Helpline 1098, or by visiting the nearest police station.

During the operation, the police have advised people to pay special attention to children seen at railway stations, bus stands, religious places, hospitals, hotels, shops, and those found rag-picking or begging on the streets. Citizens are also encouraged to report cases where minor children are found employed in domestic work or wandering without any guardian.

Additionally, if any child appears to be suspicious or lost, the police have requested the public to upload the child's photograph on the Lost and Found portal of the Mission Vatsalya website at https://missionvatsalya.wcd.gov.in.

Mumbai Police has urged all citizens to actively participate in this humanitarian mission and help reunite missing children and women with their families.
