Parel Station Name Misspelled in Marathi on Mumbai Local Train Display, Commuters Demand Fix
Mumbai’s local train network, often referred to as the city’s lifeline, has recently come under scrutiny due to a glaring error in the electronic display system of one of its suburban trains. A daily commuter raised the issue on social media platform X on Thursday, highlighting that the name of Parel station was incorrectly displayed in Marathi.
The commuter, posting under the handle @ANANDAPATIL76, pointed out that the error was observed on train number 6000B, which operates on the Central Railway's suburban route. They further revealed that complaints regarding this issue had been lodged since September 2024, yet railway authorities had failed to take corrective action. The post quickly gained traction, with many social media users finding the error amusing yet concerning. While some engaged in lighthearted banter, others called for urgent action to rectify the mistake.

Given that Mumbai's suburban railway system serves millions of passengers daily, such errors raise questions about the efficiency of digital systems and the responsiveness of railway authorities. Commuters are now urging the Central Railway administration to address the issue promptly and ensure accuracy in station name displays across all trains.
