A strange incident unfolded when a Vashi-bound 9:06 pm local train was delayed for 23 minutes at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in the evening after a stray dog was spotted on the train's roof. The dog was first noticed around 9:05 pm, just as the train was about to depart from platform number two.

Eyewitnesses reported that the dog was seen atop the train at the last moment. Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel attempted to shoo the animal away, but it became frightened and ran to the other end of the train. In its frantic attempt to escape, the dog inadvertently came into contact with the overhead electric wires and was electrocuted.
A railway official stated, "The dog was first seen on the roof just as the train was preparing to leave. GRP and Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers tried to remove it, but the dog panicked and ran. Sadly, it got electrocuted after touching the overhead wires." As the situation unfolded, curious commuters gathered to watch the scene and take pictures, which further stressed the animal. Some passengers from the packed train on platform number 2 even switched to the train on platform number 1 to capture videos and photos of the incident, according to an eyewitness.
