24 cyclists complete 200km night BRM

The brevet, which started at Ncyclopedia in Pratap Nagar at 5.30 pm, went up to Bandra village along Jabalpur Road, 5km shy of the Khawasa Gate of Pench Tiger Reserve. Of the 28 riders who registered for the event, 24 started.

The successful participants are Parvez Ali, Kiran Bhonde, Somsuvra Chatterjee, Sudhir Choudhary, Rajeshree Dange, Prashant Deshkar, Amol Dod, Dharmapal Fulzele, Chinmay Kaloti, Mukund Kamath, Pankaj Kolhe, Rajesh Mahalle, Harshal Mehta, Sachin Mendhe, Jayant Mendhi, Rupesh Meshram, Rajesh Mohite, Rakesh Naidu, Anirudh Ncyclopedia, Sandeep Pasalkar, Vikas Patra, Ojas Sontakke, Avinash Thakre and Sanjay Wakde.

The brevet route was a rolling terrain which tested the riders, many of whom were first-time 200km BRM participants.

Amol Dod, Rajeshree Dange (only female participant), Chinmay Kaloti, Harshal Mehta, Ojas Sontakke (on a rented bike), Jayant Mendhi, Avinash Thakre, Dharmapal Fulzele, Sanjay Wakde, Rajesh Mohite tasted success on first attempt.

Rakesh Naidu, who completed despite being completely dehydrated, deserves a special mention.

NR volunteer Samadhan Unhale was on the road the entire duration of the night brevet and received a thunderous applause for providing end-to-end support to the riders.
