Corona warrior young nurse in GMC dies due to Covid

A 33-year-old nurse was staying from her three and half month old twin sons from July and serving coronavirus patients in Government Medical College and Hospital. She was completely following safety measures. However, her coronavirus test report came positive on September 28, 2020. The nurse also got infected with dengue. Her health deteriorated and she passed away during treatment in one private hospital. The sudden death of this highly educated and well behaved nurse has pushed nursing staff in Government Medical College and Hospital into deep grief.

The coronavirus pandemic began in Nagpur district from March 2020. The nurse who had done M.Sc. in Paedology, was assigned duty in coronavirus ward from July month. Later, she was in service of coronavirus patients in August and September months also. She underwent test as per rule after her duty ended on September 28. Her report came positive next day. As she had no symptoms and after other tests, doctors asked her to get treatment at home. She suffered from fever on fifth day. She was diagnosed with dengue.

She was admitted to one private hospital in Mankapur. Serious symptoms of dengue were found in her. She passed away during treatment on October 11 night.

The nurses are performing duty while risking their lives along with doctors in fight against coronavirus. Some are recovering after treatment while some unfortunate are dying. This is the first death of corona warrior nurse in Government Medical College and Hospital. The administration of medical college will be sending proposal of getting benefit of Rs 50 lakh insurance to family of this nurse to State government. However, deep grief is being expressed over sudden death of nurse.
