Nagpur, March 8

Dhanwate National College defeated Shankaracharya Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT) , Raipur to emerge zonal champion in Red Bull Inter-College Cricket Tournament at Raipur.

DNC won the toss and piled up a huge total of 273 for five in 20 overs. Viupl Rathod slammed 80 runs in 38 balls hitting eight sixes and four boundaries. Akshay Dullarwar (79, 40b, 5x4, 6x6) and Saurabhh Thubrikar (70, 34b, 9x4, 3x6) also batted well. For Raipur team, Jasprit Singh claimed three wickets conceding 36 runs.

In reply, SIMT lost their wickets at regular interval and were bowled out for a paltry 118 in 16.3 overs. Vivek Dugga (58) tried his best but didn't get support from other end.

for DNC, Aman Mokhade and Tanmay Kale shared six wickets between them while Darsha Patel, Vivlesh , Satyam bhoyar and Abhiskeh Agrawal were chipped in wth one each.

Rathod was declared man of the match. Best wiketkeeper prize went to Lokesh Margade. With this victory DNC have qualified for the national-level tournament. Principal of the college Dr Surendra Jichka,r Dr Devendra Wankhede, Dr Subhash Dadhe, Prof. Jayant Jichkar and others have congratulated the team members and wished them best luck for future tournaments.
