Jay Sawalakhe emerged champion in the 1st 960 Online Blitz Chess Tournament conducted by Power Chess Academy thru the platform of ‘lichess.org’ on Saturday.
Jay Sawalakhe won the event with 8 points out of 8 rounds . He was followed by Sumedh Ramteke (6) with better tie break score of 25 whereas Nilay Kulkarni finished third with 6 points with tie break score 24. Best female prize was clinched by Vidhi Misrikotkar (4).First time Chess 960 format OLBCT was conducted for Nagpur district chess player by Power Chess Academy. Total 38 players participated in the tournament in which eight rounds were played. The time control of five minutes was given to all the players to finish the game.
The cash prizes were sponsored by Power Chess Academy and the players were given free of cost entry. This tournament was conducted under the supervision of IA Deepak Chavan and FA Umesh Panbude.
