The Nagpur police have made a significant breakthrough in the violence case by arresting a young man who had been on the run for the past ten days. It was finally discovered that he had been hiding in his own house. The police have arrested a youth named Faizan Khatib, who is accused of inciting people to riot in the Mahal area of Nagpur district of Maharashtra on March 17. This area is just two kilometres away from the RSS headquarters.
The police suspect that Faizan is a Islamist outfit member. He was arrested from his house on Wednesday, where he had been hiding for the last ten days. Along with him, another suspect, Shahbaz Qazi, has also been arrested. Both have been remanded to two days of police custody.

The intelligence agencies had already been suspicious of Faizan. Around one and a half years ago, he had also created a disturbance near Gandhi Gate in Mahal. He is accused of provoking people after eloping and marrying a woman from another community. According to the police, before returning to Nagpur for Ramadan and Eid, Faizan had been working in Akola.
This is the third major arrest in this case. Previously, the police had arrested Faheem Khan and his alleged mentor, Hameed Engineer. Both Faheem Khan and Hameed Engineer have been charged with sedition and inciting riots. The police claim that they spread inflammatory messages via video before the violence erupted on the night of March 17. The police also claim that Khatib is associated with the Islamic Youth Federation, a radical organisation.
