Nagpur Violence: “New Pattern To Scare Hindus,” Says Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader Sanjay Raut Amid Unrest In City

Addressing a press conference, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut spoke about Nagpur Violence. He said that this is a new pattern to scare Hindus and involve them in riots. Major clashes erupted in Nagpur's Mahal area on Monday night following a dispute between two groups, resulting in vandalism, arson, and vehicle fires. Stone pelting was reported, causing panic among residents. Earlier that day, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal organized a protest at Shivaji Statue Square, demanding the government remove Aurangzeb's tomb.

Sanjay Raut said, “There is no reason for violence to occur in Nagpur. It is where RSS is headquartered. It is also Devendra ji's constituency. Who can have the courage to spread violence there? This is a new pattern to scare Hindus, make their own people attack them, and then incite and involve them in riots.”

He said, “The reason behind the violence has not been found yet. 47 people have been detained so far. 12-14 police personnel were injured in the incident. 2-3 civilians also received injuries. We will find the reason behind the incident. Stringent action will be taken on those who took the law into their hands.”

The protest was getting violent, to control the mob police lathi-charged and fired teargas over people. In this clash, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal was on the road. The police commissioner was injured after being stoned by the mob. Deputy Commissioner of Police Niketan Kadam was attacked with sharp weapons by some in the mob. In this, he suffered serious injuries on both his hands. He was first shifted to Mayo Hospital and then to a private hospital.
