Nagpur, May 23

Asha and group promoters are being made to work like full time employees during the corona pandemic.

But, they are not paid accordingly and moreover the officers threatened them to remove from the job. The National Federation of Asha workers and Group Promoters has called for a nationwide strike on May 24.

The Asha workers are sometimes attacked by the citizens when they go for polls. It is a matter of pride that Asha workers, who served efficiently and with full dedication during the Covid period, were honoured as a Covid warriors, but they are not even paid enough to meet their basic needs.

While working during the pandemic, many Asha workers lost their lives. As a result, their families are suffering and their children have become orphaned.

They have demanded that Asha and group promoters should be accommodated in government service and a minimum salary of `22,000 should be paid to them.
