Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had issued orders to strictly adhere to the Covid norms laid down by the it. Yet, it has come to light that restaurants and celebration lawns are brazenly flouting the norms. On Wednesday, around 94 establishments were checked in ten zones on behalf of NMC’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS). Of which, 20 establishments were found to be flouting the Covid norms and a penalty of `2.32 lakh was imposes upon them.
In a stern action against the Gotra Lawn at Teka Naka under Aasi Nagar Zone, a fine of `50,000 was imposed on it for flouting NMC guidelines regarding operations of wedding and celebration venues. It has come to for that Gotra Lawn has flouted Covid norms for the third time.
On Wednesday, the NDS teams of NMC checked various establishments across the city that includes 10 in Laxmi Nagar zone, 8 in Dharampeth, 11 in Hanuman Nagar Zone, 10 in Dhantoli Zone, 9 in Nehru Nagar Zone, 12 in Gandhibagh, 10 in Satranjipura, 10 in Lakadganj Zone, 9 in Aasi Nagar Zone and 5 in Mangalwari Zone.
In Dharampeth Zone, action was taken against High On Ten restaurant and a penalty of `5,000 was imposed on it. Besides, `25,000 penalty was imposed on health club in Hanuman Nagar Zone and 10 places in Dhantoli Zone. During the action by NDS teams, `1000 penalty was imposed on Gabru Tea stall in Ganeshpeth, `3,000 on Jyoti Cosmetics, `5,000 on Meera Wine Shop, `10,000 on Trend showroom of Empress Mall, `10,000 on Kachore lawn in Manish nagar.
Apart from this, a penalty of `5000 was imposed on Tulsi Hotel in Vanjari Nagar, ` 3000 on Reliance Fresh in Manish Nagar, `5,000 on the time zone of Trillium Mall, `5,000 on the book trunk of the mall, `10,000 on SME voice shop located in Medical Square.
A fine of `10,000 on Ideal Academy in Ashirwad Nagar under Nehru Nagar Zone was imposed. Chanakya Library in Bhande plot was penalized of `5000, `5,000 on Abhinandan restaurant near Nanga Putla under Gandhibagh zone was imposed. Radhakrishna Celebration under Satranjipura Zone was fined with `20,000, `25,000 on Khobragade Lawn in Siddharth Nagar under Aasi Nagar Zone was imposed.
A fine of `5,000 was imposed on Mangal Mandap at Kadbi Chowk under the Mangalwari Zone along with a fine of `5,000 on Raj Celebration Lawn on Gorewada Road.
