Nagpur, April 14:

Police have decided not to give any exemption to anyone during the curfew announced to prevent corona infection.

Police has installed barricades and night patrol has been in place from Wednesday night. Orders have been issued to detain citizens breaking Covid rules and curfew and detain their vehicles.

Police outposts have been set up at various places to strictly enforce the lockdown.

Strict lockdown has been imposed in the state till May 1 to curb the rapidly growing corona infection.

Corona has taken a huge toll in the city and the pandemic is on rise. Hospital beds and treatment as well as getting life-saving medicine have become difficult.

Police have been deployed in large numbers and are serving at Covid hospitals, containment zones, vaccination centres without caring for their lives. They have pulled up their socks for the lockdown. No business other than emergency and essential services will be allowed. Grocery, vegetable and fruit shops will continue to remain open. Section 188 of IPC has been imposed leading to arrest or take action other against those who travel without any valdi reason.

There are also instructions to detain the vehicle. Police will be deployed in front of the private hospital to stop incidents of vandalism by the relatives of corona infected patients. Government hospitals have 24-hour patrols and surveillance orders. Immediate action will be taken in the presence of the commissioner of police and the deputy commissioner in case of black marketing of Remdesivir injection or other drugs.

No action will be taken against those traveling for medical treatment, vaccinations, rail or air travel as well as necessary work. However, the required documents will have to be shown. Citizens will be made aware through police, social workers, women and social organizations.

Appealing to citizens through Lokmat Times, commissioner of police Amitesh Kumar said citizens should co-operate with the police to bring the infection under control as soon as possible. Don’t go out of home for no reason. Police will also monitor the market.
