Nagpur, Feb 16

The general manager of South East Central Railway (SECR) Goutam Banerjee will be in city on February 24 for inspection of Nagpur division. This would be the first visit of Banerjee to Nagpur division after taking the charge as general manager. He would be inspecting the Durg-Gondia line and might also inspect the Itwari railway station as the platform No. 6 widening work (increase in length and breadth) is going on. The platform widening work started in August 2018 and two years have past, but still the work is not complete. A new foot over bridge is also being constructed at the Itwari railway station, but an important station in SECR division, like Itwari is still lagging behind when it comes to modernisation and looks. The extension work of modernisation of Motibagh Car Shed is also going on at snail pace. He was expected to visit the rail museum based at Motibagh Shed, but he could not visit the museum.
