Shiva Iyer emerged sole leader with 7 points at the end of the seventh round of the Late Umesh Panbude Benefit Weekend Online Blitz Tournament organised by Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) through the platform of “Lichess.org”. on Sunday.

Shiva was followed by Priyanshu Patil and Sparsh Khandelwal with six points each. On top boar,d Shiva defeated Vaibhav Raut to emerge the sole reader.

On second board, Khandelwal defeated Amardeep Bortakke whereas Priyanshu Patil outwitted Suhan Deshpande.

Total 111 players have participated in the tournament. In all 11 rounds will be played. The time control of five minutes was given to each player to finish the game.

This tournament is conducted under the supervision of IA Swapnil Bansod, IA Deepak Chavan and IA Pravin Pantawane. The result will be intimated after getting the anti-cheating report.

Shiva Iyer (7) bt Vaibhav Raut (5.5). Sparsh Khandelwal (6) bt Amardeep Bartakke (5), Priyanshu Patil (6) bt Suhan Deshpande (5), Sidhnt Gawai (5.5) drew with Dishani Bajaj (5.5). Kaustav Barat (4) lost to Sakshan Singh (5), Sumedh Ramteke (5) bt Akshay Patil (4.5), Sanjay Guha (4) lost to Anshuman Purankar (5), Himani Jethwani (4) lost to Prerak Darvekar (5), Saurabh Lokhande (5.5) bt Aditya Bortakke (4.5), Shraddha Bajaj (4.5) lost to Nilay Kulkarni (5.5).
