A speeding Mercedes dashed an electric DP in Gandhi Nagar around 1.30 pm, under the jurisdiction of Ambazari police station. The driver and woman co-passenger got injured in the accident. There is an electric DP near Gandhinagar Skating Ring in front of Rakesh Marathe’s house.

A Mercedes car bearing registration number MH31-NB-6900 dashed the DP, which created a huge noise and both air bags inflated due to the impact. The car is registered in the name of Sanjay P Agrawal, a resident of Bhagwaghar Layout.

The people in the locality rushed to the spot, hearing the noise and helped the driver and woman to get out of the car, as they were asking for help. They immediately rushed them to hospital and informed police control room. The Ambazari reached the spot immediately.

As per eye witness, both the driver and co-passenger were saved due to the air bag, else there could have been a major tragedy. It is still not known that who was riding the car and what is his connection with the owner of the car. The police has registered a case of accident and damage to public property and are investigating further.
