Nagpur, June 26
Suspended police inspector (PI) Ashok Meshram of Yashodhara Nagar, who lured a home guard constable and outraged her modesty has been absconding, from the time charges have been filed against him.
The act of Mesharam has brought disrespect to the police department and the act is being condemned by various sections of the society.
In the last four months, four policemen, including inspector Arvind Bhole, have been charged with rape and molestation. Commissioner of police Amitesh Kumar has repeatedly warned the local police to take stern action against police personnel tarnishing the image of the department. When police went to serve the suspension order to Meshram’s residence, he was absconding and the suspension notice was pasted on his door.
