Thousands of applications are pending with eight Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes Certificate Verification Committees in state for many years. The Adivasi Samaj Sanghatan has demanded that these pending applications should be cleared within stipulated timeframe by conducting a special drive. Similarly, it also demanded that criminal offences should be lodged against those whose caste certificate claims were found to be bogus.

According to Supreme Court’s order, the general administration department of State government had issued a GR on December 21. According to this GR, the posts of officials and employees whom caste certificates were found bogus, will be graded and filled up for Scheduled Caste. Many officials and employees are approaching court and obtaining stay. Due to this,k the posts reserved for tribal community are not becoming vacant. The president of Adivasi Vikas Parishad Dinesh Sheram and president of Adivasi Vidyarthi Sangh Mukesh Netam have demanded that criminal offences should be lodged against those giving bogus caste certificates as per rule of caste verification.
