VTA demands special vax drive for 12th std students

Hemant Trivedi said, although the government had decided that the final examination of 12th Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not be held this year considering this pandemic; but the colleges have asked students to appear for practical and viva starting soon. Under such circumstances, it’s highly recommended that such students appearing for CBSE exams are vaccinated for at least first dose so that they are protected to some extent thereby assisting Administration for not spreading viral again in the region.

Tejinder Singh Renu, secretary of VTA submitted that as administration is thankfully preparing special vaccination drives for students going abroad for studies, likewise 12th standard students appearing for practical and viva may also get vaccinated. Despite the colleges taking all precautions and even asking students to follow all protocols, it’s most likely that students will mix-up with each other before or after exams as they’ll be meeting their classmates almost after a year.

VTA accordingly requested both the Authorities to extend their support in efforts in protecting our children, likewise keeping the region safe from anticipated 3rd wave of Covid infection.

Ravindra Thakare - Collector and B. and Radhakrishnan replied that this is a good public interest issue, however same being a policy matter, they cannot take decision themselves and hence will forward the same with their remarks to Government of Maharashtra.
