The late actor Dilip Kumar, who was a Superstar in Hindi cinema and had won many awards, came to Nagpur for some programme, he sat on the ground with the artists and enjoyed the event. Famous city singer M A Kader remembered Dilip Sahab.
On February 22, 1991, in the memory of famous poet Mansha Ur Rehman Khan Mansha, a ‘Mehfil-e-Ghazal’ programme was organised in Vasantrao Deshpande Hall. Dr Mansha’s son Dr Nadeem had organised the programme in which renowned Qawwali singer Abdul Rab Chaus was also present. While M A Kader had presented selected ghazals of Dr Mansha, the audience at the end of the program, since it was attended by Superstar Dilip Kumar requested for a song from his film Kohinoor. M A Kader presented this song sung by Mohammad Rafi. Listening to the song Dilip Kumar was delighted and blessed singer Kader.
Kader told that even before this, he got fortunate to meet Yusuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) in a program in Nagpur itself. This program was organised to aid the construction of Sai Baba Temple. In this event based on the devotional songs of great singer Pandit Bhimsen Joshi at Dhantoli Ground, Dilip Kumar was present as the chief guest. The function was presided over by union minister N K P Salve.
