The heatwave in Nashik and surrounding areas has intensified again, making Sunday one of the season's hottest days. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 37.1°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 16.4°C. The scorching heat left roads and markets deserted in the afternoon, as people preferred to stay indoors.
Nashik has been experiencing a steady rise in temperatures for the past few days. While some parts of Maharashtra had been warned of unseasonal rain, Nashik and its neighboring regions have remained dry. Instead, the heatwave has been gaining strength, causing discomfort to residents.
Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, the maximum temperature had reached 36°C, but it dropped slightly in the following days. However, Sunday saw a sharp rise of two degrees, making the heat more intense. With minimum temperatures also rising, the warmth is now being felt even at night.
To cope with the rising temperatures, residents are turning to cold drinks and other cooling measures. As the heatwave continues, citizens are advised to take precautions and stay hydrated.
