Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to Visit Nashik on March 23 to Review Simhastha Kumbh Mela Preparations
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will visit Nashik on Sunday, March 23, to review preparations for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela. He will chair a high-level meeting at the District Collector's Office and is expected to inspect Ramkund and Tapovan. This has put the city's administrative departments, including the Municipal Corporation, on high alert, with last-minute preparations in full swing.
The Chief Minister’s visit will begin with a review meeting at Trimbakeshwar, followed by discussions at the Planning Building in the District Collector’s Office. The Municipal Corporation has undertaken projects worth ₹15,000 crore, while other key departments such as Public Works, Police, Zilla Parishad, and Water Resources have also launched major infrastructure and development works.
Previously, CM Fadnavis held Simhastha review meetings in Mumbai, and after he visited Prayagraj. However, this will be his first on-ground review in Nashik, making it a crucial visit. All departments, including Municipal Corporation, District Administration, Police, and Public Works, are gearing up for a detailed presentation on the progress and challenges of the preparations.
The government has already announced a dedicated authority for Simhastha, but the final approval for the master plan and funding is still awaited. These critical decisions are expected to be clarified following the Chief Minister’s review meeting.
