To celebrate the arrival of the New Year, the Hindu Navvarsh Swagat Mahotsav Samiti created a grand Maharangoli spanning 25000 square feet on the banks of the Goda River in Panchavati on Friday (28th). This stunning artwork, crafted with the help of 100 women, showcases inspiring moments from the life of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar. The initiative was taken to mark the tercentenary of her birth, highlighting her achievements, leadership, and generosity through intricate Rangoli designs.
Ahilyadevi’s Descendants Grace the Event
The event was made even more special with the presence of Ahilyadevi Holkar’s descendant, Banraj Nanasaheb Holkar, who inaugurated the Maharangoli by placing the first stroke of color. Nashik Municipal Corporation’s Public Relations Officer Manisha Patekar was also present at the event.
Prominent personalities like President Shivajirao Bindaro, Chandrashekhar Joshi, Rajesh Dargode, Aarti Garud, Sujata Kapure, and Nilesh Deshpande attended the occasion. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mayuri Shukla.
Massive Effort Behind the Maharangoli
The creation of this vibrant Rangoli required 400 kg of Rangoli powder and 2,500 kg of colors. The artwork was completed in just four hours, from 6 AM to 10 AM, with the dedicated efforts of the 100 women participants.
The designing and execution of the Maharangoli were led by Nilesh Deshpande, while Aarti Garud, Mayuri Shukla, Sujata Kapure, Shrikant Vani, and Praful Chavan played key roles in ensuring the success of this grand initiative.
This event not only celebrated the New Year but also paid a beautiful tribute to the legendary Ahilyadevi Holkar, inspiring many with her timeless contributions.
