Nashik's Citilinc bus service, a vital transportation lifeline for the city, has been disrupted since Saturday (27th) due to a strike by drivers demanding a salary increase. This strike caused significant inconvenience for passengers but was resolved today following successful negotiations between the drivers and the contractor.
More information regarding this resolution reveals that a positive discussion took place today between the office bearers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the contractor. In this meeting, most of the drivers' demands were accepted. Consequently, Citilinc bus services from both Nashik Road and Tapovan depots were resumed.
The strike was initially called by the MNS Workers' Sena on Saturday. For the past three days, school students, employees, and daily commuters faced great inconvenience as not a single bus was operational on the daily routes. The passengers expressed their frustration and anger over the situation.
After the settlement of the strike today, Citilinc buses will resume their regular routes from today, bringing much-needed relief to the city’s commuters. The positive outcome of the negotiations ensures that the bus drivers' concerns were addressed adequately, and the public transport system will be back to normal operation, serving the needs of Nashik's residents once again.
