The Taluka police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly strangling his pregnant wife and dumping her body in a bush near Chandshi Shivara. The victim, Amrutakumari Sukesar (19), was found in a decomposed state near the Goda road. Her husband, Vicky Rai Sukesar, a resident of Satpur and a native of Nepal, has been taken into custody.

According to the police, Vicky had taken Amrutakumari to a deserted hill area in Chandshi Shivara a few days ago. He allegedly strangled her with a rope and then fled. On March 1, Vicky filed a missing complaint at Panchavati Police Station, claiming his wife had disappeared from Gandhi Lake on February 28.

On March 3, the Taluka police discovered a female body abandoned in a bush and sent it for an autopsy. The post-mortem confirmed that the victim had been assaulted and strangled. The police sent her photographs to different stations, and the Panchavati police identified her as the missing woman.

During interrogation, Vicky confessed to the crime, revealing that he suspected his wife’s character and killed her in a fit of rage. A murder case has been registered against him at the Taluka Police Station.
