After days of intense heat, the citizens of Nashik have finally experienced a slight drop in temperature, bringing some much-needed relief. For the past few days, the mercury had consistently crossed the 40-degree Celsius mark, causing discomfort and concern among residents.
On Sunday (April 20), the city recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum dropped to 20.9 degrees Celsius. The lower night temperatures have especially brought relief to people, making evenings and early mornings more bearable.
This summer has been unusually harsh for Nashik. The temperature had already touched 41 degrees Celsius in the first half of April, which is significantly higher than the averages seen in recent years. The heatwave had made daily life difficult, with citizens avoiding outdoor activities during the peak afternoon hours.
However, since Saturday, the intensity of the sun has reduced slightly, leading to a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures. While it’s still hot, the decrease has sparked hope that the worst of the heatwave may be over.
Meteorological officials are closely monitoring the weather patterns. Citizens are advised to continue taking precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid direct sun exposure during the afternoon hours.
