Nashik: Residents Unhappy as Flight Services Drop to Four Days a Week

In a recent development, flights to Goa and Nagpur from Nashik have been diverted to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, leading to a significant reduction in Nashik's flight services. Starting July 2, Nashik now only has flight services four days a week instead of the previous seven.

Flights from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Goa and Nagpur now operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For Nashik, flights to these destinations will be available on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Nashik Airport currently offers regular flights to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Delhi, Nagpur, Indore, and Goa. Despite maintaining an average passenger load of 80 percent, flight services for one city are being reduced and redirected to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This has caused significant displeasure among Nashik's residents, who suspect political pressure behind this decision.

Previously, the flight service to Indore was reduced to only operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Similarly, the daily flights to Ahmedabad have also been cut down to one, with no flights available on Wednesdays anymore.

The reduction in flight services has led to strong feelings of dissatisfaction among Nashik's citizens. Many believe that the city’s growing needs and regular passenger traffic should be sufficient to maintain the original flight schedule without redirection.
