Nashik Shocker: Pharmacy Student Brutal Killed by Friends Over Old Quarrel, Four Arrested
Nashik police have arrested four suspects, including two minors, in connection with the brutal murder of Sumit Sunil Devre, a D. Pharmacy student. The incident took place on Thursday (13th) at around 8:30 pm on the main road near CIDCO Shubham Park. Sumit was attacked with a sharp weapon by his friends over a previous quarrel. The Ambad Police Crime Investigation Team managed to arrest the accused within eight hours of the crime.
According to the police, the accused had called Sumit near a church under the pretense of important work. His mother had advised him not to go out, but he assured her that he would return soon. Unfortunately, this was their last conversation. The suspects blocked Sumit’s bike, attacked him with a sharp weapon, and left him critically injured. Before succumbing to his injuries, Sumit managed to call his father and inform him about the attack, but it was his last call.
The police launched an immediate investigation based on technical analysis and eyewitness accounts. Within hours, they arrested Arun Uttam Vairagar (20), Prasad Gorakshnath Revgade (19), and two minors, all residents of Ambad. Senior officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Monika Raut, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shekhar Deshmukh, and Crime Branch officers, supervised the operation.
A team led by Crime Investigation Team’s Inspector Sunil Pawar, along with multiple officers, carried out the arrests. Further investigation is ongoing to determine more details about the motive and events leading to the murder.
