The grand Ram Rath and Garuda Rath processions will take place in the Panchavati area of Nashik on Tuesday (April 8). Thousands of devotees are expected to join the religious event, and the city police have made strict security arrangements to ensure everything goes smoothly.
As per orders from Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, tight police security has been arranged along the entire procession route. Around 200 plainclothes police officers and civil personnel will also be deployed in the crowd to maintain law and order. In addition, traffic routes in the area have been changed to avoid congestion and ensure smooth flow.
Like every year, this year too, devotees are eagerly waiting for the processions. Preparations are now complete in Panchavati. The Ram Rath procession will begin at 2 PM from the East Gate of the Kalaram Temple, and the Garuda Rath will follow shortly after.
Ram Rath Procession Route:
Kalaram Temple (East Gate) – Nag Chowk – Charan Paduka Chowk – Laxman Jhula Bridge – Katya Maruti – Ganeshwadi Road – Mahatma Phule Statue – Ayurvedic Hospital – Marimata Road – Gauri Patangan – Mhasoba Patangan – Kapaleeshwar Temple – Ram Tirth – Parashuram Puriya Road – Malviya Chowk – Shani Chowk – Hanuman Chowk – Akhada Talim – Kalaram Temple (North Gate to East Gate).
Garuda Rath Procession Route:
Kalaram Temple (East Gate) – follows Ram Rath to Gauri Patangan – Rokdoba Hanuman Temple – under Gadge Maharaj Bridge – Delhi Gate – Nehru Chowk – Dhumal Point – Main Road – Bohorpatti – Saraf Bazaar – west of Ram Setu Bridge – Kapurthala Maidan – Mhasoba Patangan – joins Ram Rath at East Gate of Kalaram Temple.
Traffic and Public Instructions:
The procession routes will be closed to all vehicles from 2 PM until the event ends.
Police have provided alternate routes for drivers.
Vehicles from Katya Maruti Chowk to the main road via Ganeshwadi will be diverted back to Katya Maruti.
Traffic from Panchavati Karanja to Malegaon Stand will be redirected via Liyavar Karanja or Katya Maruti.
Vehicles at Santosh T Point going towards Dwarka Circle will be diverted via Sarada Circle.
Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate and follow traffic instructions to avoid inconvenience.
