Nashik and North Maharashtra are experiencing unseasonal weather changes, with cloudy skies and unexpected rain affecting the region. Moderate to light rainfall over the past two days has led to an increase in both maximum and minimum temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Nashik and Jalgaon on Tuesday, while a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for parts of Dhule. Citizens may face sudden rainfall, thunderstorms, and rising humidity levels over the next few days.
Weather Forecast for North Maharashtra
According to the IMD, a low-pressure system extending from Maharashtra to Odisha is bringing moisture-laden winds, which are expected to cause light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds at speeds of 30-40 kmph. This weather pattern may persist for the next four to five days.
On Monday, Nashik witnessed extreme heat in the afternoon, followed by sudden cloud formation in the evening. By 6 PM, the sky darkened, and the city experienced a minimum temperature of 22°C and a maximum of 38.6°C. Despite temporary relief from rain, temperatures are expected to rise sharply once the unseasonal showers subside.
Khandesh on Alert: Temperature Drop and Rain Prediction
In Jalgaon and other parts of Khandesh, temperatures that had been soaring since late March dropped by two degrees due to cloudy weather. The district recorded a maximum temperature of 38°C on Monday. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Tuesday, warning of possible unseasonal rain and hailstorms.
Summer Heatwave Ahead
While unseasonal rain is bringing temporary relief, the IMD has predicted an above-average summer from April to June. North Maharashtra, including Nashik, Jalgaon, and Dhule, may witness more heatwave days than usual, with soaring temperatures expected in the coming months.
Residents of Nashik and surrounding districts should be prepared for sudden weather changes, high temperatures, and intermittent showers over the next few days.
