A 23-year-old youth from Phulenagar, Nitin Ranashinge, died on Sunday night after suddenly bleeding from his nose and mouth. The incident took place around 8 pm near the three statues area in Panchavati, where sound walls (DJs) had been set up for an event. However, the police have confirmed that his death was not caused by the loud sound from the DJ.
Initially, some locals suspected that Nitin might have suffered bleeding due to the DJ's loud noise. But an autopsy later revealed that he died from pneumonia and tuberculosis (TB), both of which had severely affected his lungs.
Nitin’s brother, Ananda Ranashinge, rushed him to the District Government Hospital after he collapsed, but doctors declared him brought dead. A case was registered at the Panchavati police station.
Senior Inspector Madhukar Kad informed that Nitin had been suffering from tuberculosis for the past four years and was receiving treatment from a doctor in the Mumbai Naka area. The autopsy confirmed lung infection and TB as the cause of death, and not the DJ or sound systems present at the spot.
The police have appealed to citizens not to spread rumours and rely on verified information.
