Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has begun its series of divisional camps across Maharashtra from Nashik. The first camp started on Wednesday (April 16) at Manohar Garden in Govindnagar area of the city. Uddhav Thackeray himself will be present at each of these camps, party MP Sanjay Raut announced in a press conference.
The Nashik camp will be inaugurated at 9 am by MLA Aditya Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray will address party workers at 6.30 pm. Various sessions will be held throughout the day, with party leaders guiding workers on political and organisational matters. Senior lawyer Adv. Asim Sarode will also conduct a session on legal awareness.
MP Sanjay Raut, who is currently in Nashik to oversee preparations, said that an unseen speech of Balasaheb Thackeray will be shown during the camp. Raut also took the opportunity to raise questions over EVM machines, citing a report by the US intelligence agency about the possibility of hacking. He demanded that India’s future elections should be conducted through ballot papers.
Responding to political jibes, Raut said, “We do not want to go with BJP under any circumstances. We don’t need to hold Amit Shah’s feet for power.” Reacting to Minister Chandrakant Patil’s remark that Uddhav Sena wants power but is not being accepted, Raut said Patil should first look at the state of his own party.
Raut also commented on the controversy surrounding scenes in the film Phule, saying that Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, who has experience in resolving disputes like the Maratha reservation, should help resolve this matter too.
