14 people who flew to Chennai via Dubai under observation

A total of 14 passengers who had landed here on an Emirates Airlines flight via Dubai have been taken to a special medical camp as a precautionary measure, said a senior Health Department official.

Chennai, March 16 A total of 14 passengers who had landed here on an Emirates Airlines flight via Dubai have been taken to a special medical camp as a precautionary measure, said a senior Health Department official.

The 14 passengers were employed in different countries but came back home via Dubai.

"As they were possibly exposed to infection, they have been taken to the special medical camp in Poonamalle where instructions will be given on home quarantine. If a person is exposed to infection but not actually infected then he/she will be home quarantined. If a person who was exposed to infection and has been infected by the coronavirus, then he/she will be taken to isolation ward," P. Sampath, Joint Director-Epidemic, Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, told here.
